Mark Sunday, December 12th on your calendar because the Canadian Pacific Holiday Train is coming to Banff.

On Sunday, the Holiday Train stops will include:

Cochrane – 3:15 p.m., between River Ave. and 4th St., behind Provincial Building
Canmore – 5:30 p.m., Railway pedestrian crossing behind Sobeys
Banff – 6:45 p.m., Banff CP Train Station

The following is from the Canadian Pacific Holiday Train website history profile:

"This is the 12th year that the Canadian Pacific (CP) Holiday Train has been raising food, money and awareness for food banks in communities across Canada and the U.S. To date, we've helped raise $4.8 million and 2.3 million pounds of food with our Holiday Train program.

From the initial partnership with the National Food sharing program, this was a new idea formed in 1999. That December, CP began running a freight train decorated with thousands of Christmas lights across Canada, to raise awareness of the issue of hunger prevalent in all communities. In 2001, CP launched a second Holiday Train in the United States.

The goal of the Holiday Train is to collect food and money for local food banks and to raise awareness in the fight against hunger. At each event, the Holiday Train provides a box car stage, a line up of great musical talents and a corporate contribution to the local food bank. The community, in turn, is encouraged to donate food and funds, all of which stays in the community."

It stopped snowing around mid-day today and we got our first look at our winter wonderland of pristine snow.

This is the view of Mount Norquay Ski Resort from our Parlour Suite.

Don't forget about the upcoming World Cup Alpine Races taking place at Lake Louise starting November 27, with the Men's Downhill followed by Men's Super G on November 28.

The ladies tear up the race course on December 3 and 4, followed by the Super G on December 5.

Head to the Lake and cheer on our Canadians.

Today is the last day of the 35th Annual Banff Mountain Film and Book Festival and at the Banff Centre.

It has been an excellent show this year. (Never disappoints!) Many reviting presentations, movies and books.

Can't wait to see who wins the Best of the Festival tonight.

Unfortunately, tickets are sold out, however, Late Entry into the venue to see all the films after the awards section of the evening has concluded may be available. A Late Entry rush ticket line will be set up in the lobby at 7:30 p.m. Guests who manage to obtain tickets through this process will gain entrance into the venue between 8:15 - 8:30 p.m. Tickets are $25.00
